Book List: Publishers’ Showcase

IMG_0343Our Publishers’ Showcase event was a marvellous success with guests enjoying presentations from a range of Australian publishers.  Our aim was for the event to act as an information session for teachers and librarians who wanted an overview of Australian YA for 2011 and some sneak peaks into 2012.

We’ve been fielding many questions so we thought it would be helpful to list the books introduced last night.

The publishers included below were those that accepted our invitation.  They were asked to only present on four books – two from 2011, two to be launched in 2012.  They were also asked to emphasise Australian authored titles (indicated with a *).  In some publishers’ situation they asked authors to present in their stead.

Absolutely great night Adele. Congrats to CYL. It gave me what I most need. In a public library books don’t come my way for some time , so it is great to know of books to look out for. (Emails , publisher sites just don’t have the same impact after a day on the desk!) The authors and publishers were able to give some sense of the what the book was like – the ‘reading experience’. My BIG regret is that I hit the wrong button on the ipad and lost all my notes! It’s good to have the names of the books – did anyone take more notes that they could share?

Steph from the My Girl Friday blog posted notes on each book that might be helpful http://my-girlfriday.blogspot.com/2011/11/publishers-showcase-at-state-library-of.html
